Miller Swim School was established in 1960 by Larry and Rita Miller with their mission to teach children to respect and enjoy the water. Miller believes in building a safe community, one family at a time, through swim lessons, water safety education and drowning prevention.

About the role
We are looking for a Deck Manager to supervise our swim instructors and ensure that lessons are safe and operate according to Miller standards and expectations

Responsibilities
The following is not a complete list of responsibilities but accurately depict the role of deck manager. The Deck Manager will also be required to have teach lessons as well as the following responsibilities.

• Have a complete knowledge and understanding of curriculum
• Encourage instructors to take pride and ownership while promoting morale amongst the staff.
• Train and assist an instructor in need of guidance and help.
• Be knowledgeable of students and any special circumstances that may arise.
• Open and clean communication with parents about current and future events.
• Conduct grading and evaluation of students’ skills and recording skill progress.
• Attend any staff, supervisor and instructor meetings
• Report to Aquatics Director, General Manager and District Manager.

Commitments

• Full time commitment of 30 hours or more a week
• Possibility of working multiple shifts in one day.
• Possibility of working multiple locations
• Must be available for weekends

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience with competitive swimming is preferred
• Leadership experience in managing others
• Ability to obtain lifeguard certification
• Energetic, driven and ready to change lives!
