Job Description
This Full-Time position will coordinate strategies to design, build, and implement organization-wide voice and data networks. This position will work on-site.
Responsibilities:
  • Strategically plan, set up, maintain, and optimize local area network connections, devices, and protocols, ensuring seamless software and communication links.
  • Address network performance challenges by troubleshooting issues, analyzing traffic, and proposing capacity planning solutions.
  • Design, uphold, and support voice and data network infrastructure alongside associated software, encompassing switching, routing, firewalls, wireless technologies, and other network communication, with the aim of achieving peak performance and minimal downtime.
  • Deploy and configure network hardware and equipment, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless devices.
  • Oversee the setup, management, and analysis of internetwork connectivity via VPN or similar methods with Business Associates.
  • Guarantee the network and IP connectivity of all workstations, application servers, and back-end office infrastructure.
  • Integrate systems with enterprise LANs, WANs, wireless LANs, and internet-based services and protocols.
  • Implement robust security measures to safeguard networks from physical harm, viruses, unauthorized access, and data loss, either through the development and monitoring of security protocols or by collaborating with security personnel.
  • Monitor system capacity to assess its impact on performance and suggest enhancements to accommodate evolving network demands.
  • Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to support network procurement and development initiatives.
  • Plan and execute improvements, modifications, or replacements of network infrastructure components.
  • Aid in the formulation of long-term strategies and capacity planning to address future network requirements.
  • Configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user network connectivity and associated devices.
  • Install, inspect, and maintain network cabling, voice-data jacks, and other relevant equipment.
  • Actively participate in Disaster Recovery and Incident Response planning and execution.
  • Stay abreast of developments in products, services, protocols, and standards relevant to the field.
  • Provide on-call technical support within the framework of service-level agreements.
  • Cross-train as necessary to provide support for other IT functions.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including diagrams, checklists, and knowledge base documents pertaining to IT networks and associated systems.
  • Participate in off-hours maintenance activities as required.
Qualifications:
  • An Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, coupled with 1-2 years of relevant experience; or five to seven years of pertinent experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Highly desired certifications include A+ and Network+.
  • Possession of a South Dakota driver's license is mandatory.
Required Skills:
  • Proficiency in Windows server and desktop operating systems, Microsoft Office applications, and Cisco networking.
  • Strong understanding of networking principles and network-connected devices.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with hospital personnel.
