Job Summary

Provide engineering support by checking and verifying all design engineering drawings, CAD models and related documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, quality, and adherence to internal design and drawing standards.

Responsibilities

  • Check and verify all component, assembly and installation drawings and CAD models released through the Product Engineering department
  • Review drawings, CAD models, and associated design information to ensure documentation is complete and meets internal drawing and quality standards
  • Work with internal engineering teams to resolve drawing and design discrepancies when needed
  • Provide guidance to engineers and designers on GD&T datum schemes and tolerancing when needed
  • Collaborate with design team to refine and maintain internal drawing standards
  • Track overall drawing quality performance metrics for the department and provide recommendations on drafting training needed and process improvements
  • Conduct regular training within the department on drawing standards and GD&T best practices
  • Develop and maintain drawing templates, standard notes, and symbols

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required. Associate’s Degree in Drafting or Engineering Technology preferred
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience required
  • Strong knowledge and experience in applying ASME Y14.100 Engineering Drawing Practices
  • Strong knowledge and experience in applying ASME Y14.5-2009 and -2018 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards
  • Familiarity with common manufacturing processes and DFMA principles
  • Experience with computer-aided design and drafting applications (PTC Creo Parametric 6.0 or higher preferred)
  • Experience with PLM applications (Windchill 11.0 or higher preferred)
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills (MS Office, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)
