JOB SUMMARY:
Position is responsible for supporting the Holding House Manager to ensure that all of the Holding House duties are completed. Duties such as: working in the barns, unloading trailers and walking ducks to the hang line belt making sure process needs are met. Duties also include feed shut-off, washing and disinfecting the Holding House.

JOB SUMMARY:
Position is responsible for supporting the Holding House Manager to ensure that all of the Holding House duties are completed. Duties such as: working in the barns, unloading trailers and walking ducks to the hang line belt making sure process needs are met. Duties also include feed shut-off, washing and disinfecting the Holding House.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Move ducks in accordance with Duck Well-Being and Care and Handling Guidelines. Recertified annually on Duck Well Being, Duck Care and Handling Guidelines.
- Carry out daily duties such as unloading market age duck trailers, handling fatigued ducks using totes and carts, moving ducks from barn to round room and moving ducks from the round room to the belt.
- Wash and disinfect Market Age Duck Truck and Trailers as needed in a timely manner.
- Communicate to Supervisor or Lead any irregularities observed in the Holding House, such as non-functional equipment, poor air quality, etc.
- Supports the Holding House Manager in the direction of deviations in efficiency, quality, and safety and takes corrective action as required.
- Performs related duties as required.
- Experience in poultry rearing is helpful.
- Position requires the ability to lift 50 lbs.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Job requires the ability to work in all types of weather. Weekends may be scheduled as needed. Physical requirements include heavy lifting, walking for long periods of time, unloading trucks and trailers, and washing trucks and trailers. Employees may work with chemicals such as disinfectants, and solvents.
- Ability to follow policies on safety, Duck Well Being and Biosecurity guidelines.
- Able to work effectively with others; communicate with all levels of staff as required.
- Can resolve minor problems related to loading and unloading ducks, equipment operation required to meet operational objectives within guidelines and company policy.
