Job Description
The Laundry Attendant is responsible for the quality of the hotel linen supply by ensuring cleanliness according to company procedures and at a level that meets or exceeds company standards.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Sort, weigh, wash, dry, iron, fold and stock guest room and Food & Beverage linen (meeting spaces).
  • Know and follow the operating functions of all equipment, reporting any damage, hazards, or defective equipment to a Team Leader.
  • Utilize chemicals used in washing, controlling quantities of supplies as recommended by chemical supplier with approval of Housekeeping Leadership.
  • Maintains supplies and equipment pars
  • Supports conduct inventories as well as proper material use and administration
  • Cares for product utilization and avoids unnecessary waste
  • Able to identify BBP and safely address concerns
  • Follow all Material Safety Data Sheet documents and company Safety Standards
  • Completes tasks, checklists, guest requests timely and accurately.
  • Solves related issues in the best manner possible, escalates when necessary.
  • Able to follow property safety and security procedures.
  • Perform other tasks any reasonable requests as assigned or directed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:
  • High work ethic and self-initiative
  • Regular attendance according to established guidelines
  • May be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property
  • Focus and maintain attention to tasks, and complete work assignments on time despite frequent interruptions
  • Ability to maintain excellent relationships with staff and maintain staff and guest confidentiality at all times

Physical Requirements:
  • Stand and walk for varying lengths of time, often long periods of time, as workflow is continuous throughout the shift
  • Bend, pull, stoop, squat and stretch to shake, sort, wash, dry, fold, and stack linen
  • Operate commercial laundry equipment in a safe manner Stand and walk for varying lengths of time, often long periods of time
  • Work conditions could include hot and humid environments
  • Lift approximately thirty (50) pounds of equipment or supplies, using safe lifting techniques
  • Push heavy carts, approximately one hundred (100) pounds
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Know and be able to administer first aid
  • Direct evacuations in an emergency

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Highschool degree or equivalent work experience
  • Related experience with physical labor
  • Hospitality experience strongly preferred
  • Able to read, write and communicate to safely perform the work
