WorkSolved Staffing is hiring experienced Fabricators on 2nd Shift in Grand Rapids. These are Full-time 2nd shift positions working for a local Steel company. Opportunities for advancement right from the start, company promotes from within.
As a Structural Steel Fabricator, you will play a crucial role in the construction and manufacturing industry by transforming raw materials into high-quality structural steel components. Your expertise and attention to detail will be essential in ensuring the fabrication process meets safety standards and engineering specifications. This position requires proficiency in cutting, welding, shaping, and assembling various steel components used in construction projects such as buildings, bridges, and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints: You will be responsible for understanding complex engineering drawings and translating them into precise fabrication instructions.
  2. Material preparation: Accurate measurement and cutting of steel materials to specific dimensions using tools like saws, shears, and cutting torches.
  3. Welding and Joining: Proficiently perform various welding techniques (MIG, SMAW welding) to assemble steel components, ensuring strong and durable connections.
  4. Assembly and Layout: Assemble fabricated parts according to provided plans, fixtures, or templates, maintaining precision and alignment.
  5. Quality Control: Inspect finished products to verify conformance to specifications, identifying defects or imperfections and making necessary corrections.
  6. Equipment Maintenance: Regularly maintain and calibrate fabrication equipment to ensure safety, efficiency, and accuracy.
  7. Workplace Safety: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries during the fabrication process.
  8. Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other team members to coordinate fabrication activities and meet project deadlines.
  9. Problem-solving: Identify and resolve fabrication issues and challenges that may arise during the manufacturing process.
  10. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies to enhance fabrication techniques and efficiency.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training or certifications in structural steel fabrication are highly advantageous.
  • Proven experience in structural steel fabrication, with a solid understanding of steel properties and welding techniques.
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings, blueprints, and fabrication plans.
  • MIG and SMAW welding experience with certifications preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to operate fabrication tools and equipment, including but not limited to welding machines, cutting tools, and grinders.

  • $22.00 per hour
  • 2nd Shift – 4:00pm – 3:00am
  • 10-hour Shift
  • Weekly Pay
  • Referral Bonus
  • Monday to Friday
  • Full-Time
  • Overtime Available
  • Weekends as needed.
