AAC (Advanced Automation Corporation) has immediate openings for an instructor to lead the Future Ideas and Weapons course at Air University at Maxwell AFB. The course examines capabilities that Air Force Research Labs (AFRL) is developing today in relation to the field operations of AI/ML and Multi-Domain operating systems and investigates how these emerging technologies pair with future operating concepts from the Air Force Futures (AF Futures/A5) Air Force Warfighting Integration Capability (AFWIC). AFRL will benefit from the student’s research projects by having target end users identified. AFRL will be able to engage directly with units with identified capability gaps, which developing technology will sate.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a relevant course syllabus, supervising students, interfacing with AFRL’s representative chair at Air University and grading course deliverables. Other responsibilities include:

  • Liaise with Air University and AFRL Leadership to identify and promote organizational support for educational programs. Publicize the usefulness of the resulting research in providing end users for developing technologies, developing potential, targeted, uses for technology.
  • Provide leadership, expertise, and supervision of the design, development, execution, and evaluation of the Research Task Force Objectives.
  • Designs, develops, conducts, and evaluates subject matter lessons.
  • Serves as advisor to students pursing study, writing, and/or research
  • Upon request, supports Air University and AFRL with consultation support for RTF events and other collaboration activities as available.
  • Grading of deliverables which will follow the syllabus and schoolhouse (AWC and ACSC) calendars.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in field relevant to the security enterprise (i.e. History of Technology, Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, Security Studies, Engineering).
  • Ability to attain and maintain a DOD security secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • USAF experience at the O-3 to O-6 level.
  • Active DOD secret clearance or higher
  • Previous Experience with AFRL or Air University
