Collaborating Physician

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Collaborating Physician to provide chart reviews for our team of psychiatric nurse practitioners. As a Collaborating Physician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of patient care provided by our nurse practitioners. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the mental health and well-being of our patients while collaborating with a team of skilled healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

Chart Reviews: Review patient charts and records submitted by psychiatric nurse practitioners to assess the accuracy of diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and overall patient care.

Clinical Oversight: Provide clinical oversight and guidance to psychiatric nurse practitioners, ensuring adherence to best practices, standards of care, and applicable regulations.

Consultation: Be available for consultation with nurse practitioners as needed to discuss complex cases, treatment strategies, and patient management.

Quality Assurance: Monitor and maintain high standards of care by providing feedback and recommendations for improvement to nurse practitioners, promoting continuous learning and professional development.

Collaboration: Foster a collaborative and supportive working relationship with psychiatric nurse practitioners, promoting open communication and teamwork.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as organizational policies and procedures related to psychiatric care.

Qualifications

Medical Doctor (MD) degree from an accredited medical school.

Current, unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of Virginia.

Minimum 2 years of collaborative experience in psychiatry.

Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications, treatment modalities, and evidence-based practices.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse healthcare team.

Attention to detail and ability to provide constructive feedback.

Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with advancements in the field of psychiatry.
