SUMMARY:

The Operations Department is responsible for the overall look and appearance of the building and grounds, as well as events that take place in the arena and conference rooms. Part time custodial employees are responsible for the cleanliness and general upkeep of the arena and conference center. Applicants must be dependable, flexible, have a positive attitude, and able to work well with others. The work requires a varied work schedule and falls under the direct supervision of the Director of Operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned by the Director of Operations or the Executive Director.

  • Sweeping, mopping, trash pickup and removal, and cleaning of windows, counters, seats, and railings.
  • Some Lifting required
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or GED preferred.

OFFICE SKILLS:

Must operate two-way communication devices as necessary.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, and government regulations. Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or governmental officials. Must speak and write the English language fluently.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Ability to apply concepts of accounting, algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Engage in decisions related to crowd management in a prompt and decisive manner during crisis situations. Plans, coordinates, and directs varied and complex administrative operations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must have a current license to operate a motor vehicle in the United States and proof of valid insurance if operating a vehicle on behalf of company.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration.
  • The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme heat and cold; explosives and risk of radiation.
  • The noise level work environment is usually moderate.
  • With entertainment and crowd management being one of the many aspects of this industry, occasional extremely loud noise levels are present in the work environment. There are also times of low light intensity.
  • Must assist with emergency and/or crisis management aspects of the facility when warranted.
