Job Description
The LPN Wing Supervisor, under the guidance of the RN Supervisor, plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of exceptional care to residents while overseeing the nursing assistants and High School Students. This role involves executing the medical plan of care, adhering to nursing best practices, and ensuring compliance with relevant State and Federal regulations. The ideal candidate for our client possesses a genuine passion for daily interaction and care of residents.

General Duties:

Medication Administration and Monitoring:
Administer and accurately document medications, treatments, and monitoring activities as prescribed by healthcare providers.
Report and document resident responses to treatments.
Precisely transcribe physician's orders.
Documentation and Reporting:
Complete monthly summaries as per schedule.
Review and update care plans during monthly summary reviews to reflect each resident's current condition.
Promptly notify the RN Supervisor of significant changes in resident conditions.
Report and record any changes in resident conditions.
Communication:
Communicate resident transfers to immediate family and department heads through email.
Complete transfer forms for all resident transfers.
Update care plans with clear, concise, and time-limited goals based on resident condition, and guide the team in implementing appropriate approaches.
Physician Assistance:
Assist physicians during rounds, examinations, and treatments as necessary.
Laboratory Specimen Collection:
Collect various laboratory specimens (e.g., urine, cultures, stool) and ensure accurate requisitions are completed.
Document laboratory work in the Physician's Computer Company (PCC) system.
End-of-Life Care:
Supervise and assist with post-mortem procedures when a resident passes away.
Assist in collecting the resident's clothing and belongings.
Notify department heads of the resident's passing via email and make phone calls as directed by the RN Supervisor.

Qualifications
Certifications: 
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.

COVID Vaccination:
COVID vaccine is preferred but not mandatory.

Licensure:
Must possess a current license in the state of Pennsylvania or hold a temporary work permit at the time of the interview.

Knowledge and Skills:
Proficiency in medical asepsis, body mechanics, personal care of residents, correct equipment usage and maintenance, observation techniques, and accurate reporting and recording.
Thorough understanding of nursing theory and its practical application.
Willingness to acquire knowledge of and adherence to institution regulations, policies, procedures, contracts, and philosophy.
A commitment to maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor when interacting with residents, visitors, and colleagues, with a strong dedication to meeting the needs of the elderly.
Awareness of cost containment practices, efficient time management, and responsible equipment care.
Ability to follow both written and verbal directives effectively.
Strong communication and observation skills.

License Requirements:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
State licensure in Pennsylvania.

Additional License Requirement:
Must possess a current Pennsylvania license or have initiated the application process for a PA license at the time of the interview.

Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
