We are looking for someone who is reliable, mechanically inclined, and teachable who has the ability to learn our industry specific equipment. This position will be about 75% maintenance in the yard and 25% managing our parts inventory. This position works outside and candidates must be self-motivated.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • Maintenance Role
    • Maintains plant productivity by proactively managing maintenance function.
    • Learn and then lead blade changes on the shears
    • Welding and Fabrication work on stationary equipment
    • Maintain facility equipment
    • Stationary equipment by performing PM’s on:
      • Downstream sorting lines, conveyors and machines
      • Diagnostics and minor repairs to industrial type of equipment including Mobile Equipment, Forklifts, front end loaders, skid steers, truck & Trailers.
    • Work with hydraulic, pneumatic and electric systems, PLC, valves, cylinders, bearings, and electric motors
    • Check with key operations (forklift, loader, and separator) to be sure all equipment is running properly; and schedule maintenance as required.
    • Prepare and maintain all maintenance records, and daily reports.
    • May be involved in a variety of other responsibilities including ordering of parts, welding, fabricating and performance electrical repairs (minor).
  • Parts Purchasing
    • Take a pro-active approach to inventory control by assisting and/or reporting discrepancies
    • Prepare all paperwork as required, verifying for accuracy and completeness
    • Enters PO's into the system
    • Assist in accurately receipting and unpacking parts to keep stock in proper location
    • Assist in keeping the parts department clean and professional
    • Learn and predict what is needed for upcoming maintenance projects
    • Perform other related duties or special projects as assigned.

ABOUT YOU:

  • High school diploma or GED required. Two year AAS (technical degree) and / or technical certification in welding, hydraulics, electrical systems, or industrial mechanics preferred.
  • Interpersonal skills to work in a team environment
  • Must be able to operate computer, calculator, cell-phone and two-way radio,
  • Familiarity with yard vehicles, forklift, loaders, and material separators a definite plus
  • Organizational skills required
  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs
  • Valid Drivers License required.
