We have an immediate need for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Apprentice Duct Installer. The successful candidate must be able to work efficiently with great attention to detail, should have exceptional multi-tasking skills and be organized and able to perform in a fast-paced environment. This is an hourly, nonexempt, at-will position. Must be available to work full shifts plus overtime.

The Install Apprentice is responsible for traveling to customers' homes and following directions from the Lead Installer to assist in proficiently installing HVAC equipment.

We provide paid training, no experience required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install duct work in residential buildings
  • Make fittings and hook ups for air handlers
  • Serve existing accounts by analyzing and performing on work orders; gather components, parts, and tools to complete installation
  • Maintain rapport with customers, communicate details of work being performed and educate on use of new system(s)
  • Document service and installation by completing applicable forms, reports, logs, and/or records

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Work well under pressure
  • Must have valid driver's license
  • Good communicator - works well with different customers and office personality styles.
  • Ability to handle difficult customer/diagnostic issues
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
  • Must be willing to undergo a background check, drug screen and physical

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • The principal duties of this position are performed in a variety of environments, including customer homes, the outdoors, and field environments at development and work sites on uneven and rough terrain.
  • Required to work in outside weather conditions, including heat, cold, and temperature swings, for extended periods of time.
  • Requires concentration and attention to detail; requires a high level of organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Standing up to 8 hours per day; Walking up to 8 hours per day on uneven, difficult terrain.
  • Occasional heavy manual labor to include lifting and carrying up to 75 pounds.
  • Regular and repetitive grasping, gripping, reaching, bending, stooping, crouching, climbing, squatting, kneeling, and working overhead.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (e.g., machinery alarms, or alarms).
  • May work in closed or cramped spaces on occasion
