We are seeking highly motivated, talented, and driven individuals to join Mead Lumber Company, Inc. as Interns. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and learn from industry professionals in a fast-paced environment.
Mead Lumber Company, Inc. is a leading provider of products to professional contractors, construction builders, and remodelers. Our growing, 100% Employee-Owned Company, consists of lumber yards, hardware stores, home centers, rental centers, countertop and millwork fabrication facilities and truss/wall panel plants. We have 53 operating locations across 9 Midwestern states. We are the 12th largest building material suppliers to professional builders in the country. POSITION SUMMARY:
Interns will be exposed to a wide range of tasks and projects, providing valuable skills and knowledge that will kickstart a career in the building materials industry following graduation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with day-to-day operations of the company, including operations, drafting/estimating, sales support, and customer service.
- Work closely with various departments to support their needs and projects.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to improve processes and operations.
- Shadow and learn from experienced professionals in different areas of the company.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program, preferably in Construction Management, Business, Sales/Marketing, Drafting, or a related discipline/major (Junior/Senior status preferred).
- Previous experience in Building Materials, Retail, Construction, or related industry a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
