Job Description
The Executive Director is responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of a community under the guidelines of Traditions Senior Care management. Responsibilities include hiring, scheduling, orientation, evaluation of all employees assigned to the community, resident admission, resident care, clinical oversight, relationships with residents and their families and/or responsible resident representatives, community relations, relations with community ownership, and relations with all other appropriate state and county Department of Social Services representatives. All responsibilities will be conducted in a manner consistent with the assisted living philosophy of Traditions Senior Care.

Qualifications:
Assisted Living &/or Skilled Nursing Administration/Management Experience and licensed RN or LPN
Must meet one of the three following qualifications:
  • Minimum of seven (2) years of experience as an executive director, nurse manager, administrator or administrators assistant within a continuing care retirement community.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as an executive director, nurse manager, administrator or administrators assistant in a long-term care senior living environment that includes demonstrated leadership within a health center.
Administration Responsibilities
Directly supervises up to 60 employees in Assited living facility and/or ALF. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Assited living facility and/or ALF Policies and within Nursing license scope of practice. Responsibilities include but not limited to
Training employees as needed
Planning / Assigning /Delegating work
Appraising performance
Rewarding and Disciplining employees
Resolving Problems
Quarterly Staff Meetings. Meetings can be Educational or Team Building
Monitoring Medication Pass of employees. Evaluating employees competencies on completing safe med pass. Educating employee on medication pass importance and safety.
Monitoring new employee performance and provide feedback for improvement in job duties.
Complete Fire/Tornado Drills per DHS.83 Regulations
Gives Visitor tours for potential admissions
Works with staff directly to develop a plan that is fair and works for all shifts for resident lists of DAY, PM, AND NOC DUTIES. This includes get up list, bed time list and shower list.
Ensuring building is neat, tidy, and safe
Updating Administrator with any maintenance needs
Communicate with Cook and Activity Director regarding any individual care needs
Gathering staff upcoming availability and assist HR with the scheduling process
On-Call Rotation: schedules will be completed quarterly. Managers will also be asked to fill weekday hours as needed.

Clinical Responsibilities

Works with Physician and other medical staff to assess the condition of the patient, devise an individual plan of care, and ensure it is implemented.
Keep records showing the residents condition, medication, and other treatments.
Help the resident understand the aging process and how it affects their health and lifestyles.
Assist residents in finding ways of adjusting to age related changes that will allow for lifestyle as comfortable and independent as the situation will permit.
Monitor the resident with the basic needs as dressing, eating, and bathing and encourage residents to do things for themselves to retain feelings of independence and self-esteem.
Assist Care staff with needs they may have in caring for your residents. This includes but not limited to: Assists with serving meals/Assists with feeding meals/Assist with Medication Pass/Assist with dressing/undressing
Quarterly Nursing Assessments on each resident
Admission Paperwork
Annual Medication Review
Quarterly Psychotropic Review
Annual ISP Review: Meeting with family to update at that time
Continual communication with family regarding each resident and Plan of Care, changes, med adjustments
Coordinate appointments for residents
Updating Primary Physician/ County Case Managers/ Family with any changes or concerns
Documenting all changes, concerns, and updates for each resident
Thin charts (as needed)/Break down charts
Ensure Medication Cart is clean, tidy and no expired meds monthly
Updating all MCOs with any change in condition, falls, concerns, or supply needs.
Monitor staff charting is completed per policies. Speak directly with employees not charting accordingly.
Administer TB injections to staff and residents as needed
Check in Monthly medications and all new medications. Destruction of discontinued medications as needed.
Communicate with Podiatry and provide updated list for their quarterly visit
Attend Plan of Care meetings with MCO residents

Summary
Assure the provisions of high quality services needed or desired by residents.
Assure that residents receive appropriate levels of assistance with activities of daily living and clinical services offered by the community.
Monitor daily, key measurable indicators of the quality and requirements of senior residents.
Maintain relationships between the residents and the residents families and/or other individuals responsible for the general well-being of the resident.
Organize and administer resident admission and appropriate categorization of residents including maintaining the targeted occupancy levels and cost control.
Maintain ongoing relationships with existing and potential referral sources, including: hospitals, nursing homes, home health agencies, physicians, and the general public.
Support Sales and Marketing as needed.
Create and maintain relationships with significant community organizations and agencies.
Attain and/or maintain ongoing compliance with appropriate state, local, federal, regulatory, and/or accrediting body standards. Prepares to meet all standards and requirements through regular internal audit, updating of programs and operating policies and procedures, including medical records documentation and environmental standards.
Establish and maintain the annual operating and capital budget.
Implement selection, orientation, in-service, scheduling, and evaluation of all team members employed at the community.
Direct, supervise, and evaluate work activities of all personnel at the community, including contracted team members and volunteers.
Maintain complete and accurate personnel and resident records.
Promote team-building of team members and of leadership initiatives at regular corporate and community team meetings.
