Job Summary

Capable of efficiently performing and monitoring all tool and equipment inspections, maintenance and issuance from small hand tools to large equipment, for the day-to-day functions of a major fabrication / assembly plant.

Essential Functions:

1. Maintain all tool crib and shadow-board tools.
   1. Understand the safe and proficient use, maintenance and storage of all common mechanical pipefitter, structural-fitter and welder tools. These could be any of the following:
      • Pneumatic
      • Hydraulic
      • Electric
      • Manual
   2. Manage functionality of all tools from either issued tool crib or project shadow-boards.
      • Safely disassemble all tools used in the normal functions for above-described positions.
      • Perform all normal maintenance procedure for the upkeep of such tools.
      • Monitor timely delivery and installation of replacement components.
      • Replacement of normal tool consumables such as; brushes, armatures, cords, chucks, housings, cylinders, etc., through soldering, crimps, brazing, etc., as necessary.
      • Manage Kanban quantities of tool consumables and order as necessary.
      • Monitor issuance of all tools in tool crib and notify Fabrication Manager of discrepancies.

1. Understand, follow and maintain all O&M requirements for maintenance protocols on large equipment, per monthly/quarterly/semi-annual/annual basis as required. Can consist of but not limited to:
   • HydraMech bandsaw
   • Piranha shear/press
   • Victaulic groove roller
   • Bridge and gantry cranes
   • Wilton drill press
   • Bench grinders
   • Forklifts
   • Plasma/torch cutters
   • Straps/chains/hoists/shackles
   • Ladders/extension cords
   • Welding machines
   • Air compressors
   • Blast/paint booth equipment.
2. Safely disassemble all equipment described above, (where certifications are not required), and perform all normal maintenance procedure for their upkeep.
3. Monitor timely delivery and installation of replacement components.
4. Document all inspections and/or repairs as per established SEA.6.05.FB.2SOP and other written or verbal protocols for future reference.
5. Knowledge of basic facility power operations ie… 480/277/110 volts, indoor/outdoor lighting, circuit breakers, panelboards, etc…

1. Complete daily tool inventory.
2. Knowledgeable of operating overhead cranes and or forklifts, while adhering to industry standards.
3. Accountability for completion of daily work assignments while monitoring quality, safety and health regulations.
4. Responsibilities may require sedentary work, including but not limited to computer operation, video review, classroom or online training, job observations/inspections, and peer work review.
5. Prepares for ISO 9001 and other audits.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed inside and outside with uncontrolled weather conditions.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Expected Hours of Work

1st Shift 7:00AM - 3:30PM Monday-Friday

2nd Shift 3:00PM – 1:30AM Monday-Thursday

NOTE: May be assigned to work any shift. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED
• Related experience or training

Preferred Education and Experience

• 4+ years in tool / equipment maintenance field or
• 2 years vocational technical training
• SMAW, FCAW welding knowledge
• Microsoft Word, Excel

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Must have dependable transportation, valid driver’s license, clean back-ground check and random drug screening consent.

Work Authorization

Must be authorized to work in USA.
