POSITION SUMMARY:


Reporting to the General Manager, the Fulfillment & Logistics Manager position at Dan and Jerry’s / De Jong’s Greenhouses is a hands-on role with involvement in the day-to-day green goods fulfillment and transportation activities of the business, including cross-department functions.

SAFETY:

Safety is a top priority at Dan and Jerry’s Greenhouses and as Transportation Manager, you will take an active leadership role in promoting a safe working culture. We want all employees, customers, and guests to Arrive Safe, Be Safe and Leave Safe.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (comprehensive, but not limited to):

  • Manages daily operations of shipping department:
    1. Manages schedule, work quality and efficiency of fulfillment staff. (3-7 employees).
    2. Assigns tasks to consolidate and ensure quality of inventory.
    3. Works with Inventory Specialist to maintain shipping supply inventory.
    4. Works alongside team to unload specialized deliveries.
  • Be the manager and conduit for driver communication and route scheduling.
  • Utilize and maintain transportation software (DD2/Samsara) to ensure efficiency and safety.
  • Occasional driving will be required along with a clean driving record.
  • Promotes a culture of safety and well-being.
  • Assists in establishing documented department processes and procedures.
  • Always maintains a strict level of confidentiality concerning Dan Jerry’s Greenhouses strategic, operation, and financial positions.

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in warehouse & logistics management or equivalent, industry discipline preferred.
  • CDL Class B Licensure Required.
  • Experience with Microsoft suite of products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience successfully managing a team.

  • Ability to effectively work autonomously, while always keeping General Manager informed of critical data.
  • Functions successfully with deadlines and performs in a fast-paced work environment.
