Job Description

This position works as part of a team having responsibility for Inspection of an entire product or component of a product. The Team Member (TM) performs all tasks conducted by the team in the Quality Department and rotates through all or most of them rather than being assigned to a specific task on a permanent basis. The TM follows safety protocols and inspects the parts for high quality. The TM may participate in making individual decisions affecting the improvement of the team.

  • Follow required Safety rules.
  • Support NCR Activity for any non-conformity found during quality checks.
  • Inform Quality Leadership Team of any issues that will need their assistance.
  • Support Investigations of quality concerns to determine if condition is to the print or nonconforming.
  • Assist Quality Team in Problem Solving, Brainstorming & Support Implementation of Countermeasure to problems.
  • Load and unload items from machines, conveyors, and conveyances
  • Operate Equipment used to support production process, such as CMM, Contracer, Hardness Tester, Roundness Tester and other various equipment.
  • Perform Visual & Manual Inspection of Final Products to assure standards are met.
  • Calibrate or Master Equipment to begin Inspection processes.
  • Rotate through all the tasks required in a particular process.
  • Clean and monitor work areas.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or Higher Education.
  • 1 Year of Quality Experience in Manufacturing or Related Field.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
  • Dependable and fosters teamwork

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple assignments in order to meet deadlines/targets.
  • Knowledge of quality test equipment
  • Knowledge of functions of automobile parts and their overall quality requirements.
  • Ability to learn unfamiliar process concepts, primarily through hands on work, observation skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of TPS and 5S.
  • Follow standardized work.
  • Examine products or work to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Fabricate, assemble, or disassemble manufactured products by hand.
  • Use hands or power tools.
  • Use computers to enter, access or retrieve data.
  • Basic Blueprint Reading and Interpretation.

While performing the job duties in the plant, the team member is regularly exposed to physical hazard vehicles such as powered vehicles, pedestrian traffic, sharp objects, moving machinery, and materials handling. The plant conditions are indoors and the temperatures vary. The plant is noisy and dirty when machines are operating. Workdays may consist of working up to 12 hours per day, overtime and weekend work as necessary. Protective gear such as safety glasses, hard hat, steel toe shoes are required at all time when on plant floor.

While performing the job duties, the team may need to regularly to sit. The team member is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, to talk, and to hear. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to frequently adjust.
