New Product Development – Senior Procurement Project Manager

Job Description

Job Summary:

Lead NPD Procurement Project Management team and work with internal stakeholders to source the required components needed to launch new products and/or support product-line extensions leveraging Category Strategies and preferred suppliers, in conjunction with the Sourcing Team. Ensure the proper use of common parts across products and leverage platforming opportunities whenever possible.

Responsible for developing & executing detailed new product sourcing strategies. Candidate will be leading and/or supporting negotiations and supplier selection. Responsible for managing supply base to meet cost, quality and delivery metrics.

Responsibilities:

  • Source required parts/components needed to launch new products and/or support product-line extensions, in conjunction with the Sourcing Team
  • Negotiate documents to support program with suppliers (ie: NDA, SOW, LOI, etc)
  • Actively participate and engage in all required Project Team meetings. Able to provide clear, concise and accurate information to Project Team and leadership.
  • Ensure that Sourcing Strategies are utilized and ensure the use of common parts & supplier platform opportunities whenever possible
  • Identify and engage with internal stakeholders (engineering, operations, quality, etc.) to capture commodity requirements, early supplier involvement opportunities, ensure supplier qualification, timeline achievement and quality requirements.
  • Conduct or support negotiations and supplier selection
  • Support commodity continuity of supply – work with supply base to ensure that full production volume capacity is identified, and that supplier is able to achieve targets.
  • Engagement to develop target costs and support internal team / suppliers in achieving targets.
  • Manage and maintain active sourcing activity data and support full system completion to support product builds.
  • Lead and develop NPD Procurement Project Management team to develop robust processes, talent development and ensure program execution.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering or related field
  • 8+ years procurement sourcing experience, project management, consulting, buyer, and/or analyst experience
  • Demonstrate competence in negotiating skills and assessing vendors.
  • Candidate must have demonstrated experience coordinating, facilitating discussions, consultation and conflict resolution skills
  • Professional communication; both verbal and written are required.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
