Job Description

The Purchasing Agent is a trusted individual who is responsible for keeping inventory stocked and production running without interruption. This candidate possesses well rounded knowledge of automotive parts and components and can relentlessly source quality materials for the best price. As a lead, you are the “go to” person for all things purchasing.


Reports To

Supply Chain Manager


About Your Role

  • Research and order automotive parts and components, maintenance and office supplies, etc.
  • Maintain relationships with vendors.
  • Monitor inventory levels and determine purchasing needs.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Research and order Signature Series Bronco parts and components.
  • Order facility maintenance and office supplies.
  • Keep a log of which items are commonly purchased and how often.
  • Search for quality parts with the most competitive pricing.
  • Communicate and maintain professional relationships with vendors.
  • Contact vendors for product ETA’s and availability and lead times.
  • Order and stock new employee tool packages.
  • Monitor inventory to ensure at least 8 weeks of supply.
  • Request cost proposals.
  • Prepare and process purchasing orders.
  • Process warranties and returns.
  • Train employees on purchasing processes.

 

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Team minded with an always willing to help attitude.
  • Fluent use of written and verbal professional communication.
  • Demonstrated consistency, accuracy, and follow-through.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to work.
  • Background check and pre-employment drug screening required.


Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Degree in business administration, procurement, logistics, or related field preferred
  • Previous experience in a purchasing role
  • Proficiency in CRM and inventory management software programs
  • QuickBooks knowledge is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft and Google products, especially Excel and Sheets


Physical Demands (to include but not limited to)

  • Must be able to lift, carry, and place merchandise and supplies up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment including computer, office equipment, telephone, etc.
  • Frequent standing and walking for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to navigate through various departments of the organization’s physical premises.
  • Frequent reaching overhead and below the knees, including squatting, bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting.
  • Ability to work in hot or cold temperatures for long periods of time.
  • Safely operate a motor vehicle.
