Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE
The Crane Maintenance, Inspection, and Repair Technician reports to the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor and collaborates closely with the Facilities Planner. This position is focused on cranes and other lifting equipment, and is primarily responsible for conducting safe inspections, diagnosis, and repair. The technician must have a thorough understanding of the mechanics of cranes and other lifting equipment in order to perform the work safely, timely, and with quality.
Although the position is primarily field oriented, this position will also require collaboration with the planner and establishment of effective and efficient preventative maintenance strategy.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Primarily field work with some office work for managing work orders, documentation, and collaboration with Planner (75% field, 25% office).
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Exemplify the Capstone Copper Values in all efforts and interactions while working in compliance all MSHA safety guidelines and Pinto Valley Mine policies and procedures
- Ensure that you are certified to execute the tasks / jobs assigned
- Develop daily reports with detailed information related to performed maintenance activities and remaining work
- Inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing cranes or other lifting equipment
- Performing annual inspection on required equipment
- Assist with scheduling of cranes or other lifting equipment
- Able to work at high elevations
- Read/utilize schematics to support troubleshooting
- Maintain company issued equipment, vehicle, and assets in a safe and proper working order
- Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles in a safe and responsible manner
- Knowledge in troubleshooting/repairing various equipment lines including but not limited to: Manitowac, Grove, Terex, National, Tadano, Broderson, Kobelco, Liebherr, Genio, Skyjack cranes, and aerial units
- Utilize SAP for work order management and documentation
- Utilize Microsoft Office software for documentation, organization, and communication
- Responsible for but not limited to all tasks/duties assigned or required
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Required:
- Certified Overhead Crane Technician
Preferred:
- NCCO or Crane Inspection & Certification Bureau Certified
YEARS OF RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:
(Required, Preferred)
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in crane service, repair, and inspection
Preferred:
- 10+ years of experience in crane service, repair, and inspection
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES (KSA):
- General and specific knowledge on inspections and repair, with a strong background in crane function and operation, electrical, electronics, mechanical, hydraulics, and Pneumatics on mobile and overhead cranes
- Experience and knowledge of predictive and preventative maintenance processes and practices
- NCCO or Crane Inspection & Certification Bureau Certified preferred
- Proven ability to operate independently and in small multi-discipline teams
- Demonstrated leadership and self motivation
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
- Strong time management skills required
- SAP experience a plus
- Familiarity with mining and ore processing specific equipment a plus
- Intermediate computer skills, spreadsheets; Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel
- Able to speak, comprehend, and write English
