Estimator / Project Manager -Excavation

Dynamic and rapidly growing construction contractor is in need of an Estimator / Project Manager. The ideal candidate will have experience with all facets of grading, excavating, underground utilities and other construction types of projects. The rapid growth of our client company has created the demand for a self-starter who can step in and immediately estimate and effectively manage small and large projects. Essential Duties

• Accurately and timely completion of quantity take-offs and estimates for jobs of all types of grading and excavating projects
• Write bid proposals for small and large excavating and other types of construction projects
• Establish relationships with as many potential bidders as possible
• Maintain current material and subcontractor pricing
• Participate in plan and specifications reviews
• Effectively manage and control the bidding process
• Provide upper management with reports on bids won/lost
• Responsible for running multiple projects from start to finish
• Create and manage schedules, manpower, pricing, vendors, and customers during all projects
• Maintain relationships with current clients
• Manage crews and subcontractors on all projects
• Create a dynamic work environment with the potential responsibility of building the department

Essential Requirements

• 2-8 (Two to Eight) years of experience estimating and running excavating and other types of construction projects
• Proven ability to read and understand all types of take offs, blueprints plans and specifications
• Experience using estimating software: Bluebeam, AGTEK and Timberline
• Verifiable experience using Microsoft Office Products which include Excel, Word and Outlook is required
• Demonstrated success at forecasting material, equipment, and manpower
• Knowledge of and experience in total site prep with site development, land clearing, grading, and excavating and other types of construction projects is required
• Leadership by Example with positive, hardworking, can-do attitude
• Proven math abilities with creative problem-solving abilities
• High School Diploma or GED is required
• Clean driving record with a current and valid driver’s license
• Associates or Trade School Certification or equivalent work experience
