Spring, an Alera Group Company is looking to add a Consultant to their Absence Management team! 

 

Provides consulting and subject matter expertise in the absence management arena, including disability, FMLA, PFML, and coordination with other leave types and benefit programs.  This position is in our Boston office but can be remote.


Works closely with our clients and consultants in the following areas:

  • Respond to internal and external client and prospect inquiries
  • Lead initial discovery calls and develop resulting proposals accordingly
  • Advise clients on disability, FMLA, PFML, leave, ADA, and return to work approaches
  • Prepare disability, absence, and health management program deliverables
  • Manage client engagements including relationship expansion and assuring timely, clearly communicated client deliverables
  • Oversee vendor procurement, negotiation, and optimization 
  • Foster ongoing carrier and TPA relationships
  • Generate business in accordance with individual sales target
  • Collaborate with other teams to provide strategies and solutions
  • Peer review the work of other team members as needed

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of disability and absence management experience and achieved or is working towards a CLMS certification. Key characteristics include:

 

  • Proven knowledge of federal, state, and local absence regulations
  • Strong ability to analyze absence plans, policies, processes, and technology usage
  • Effective communication skills (in both oral and written forms) across multiple audiences
  • Experience with converting results and findings into effective client deliverables
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • High degree of customer focus and responsiveness
  • Strong relationship building skills and motivation to prospect and network
  • Ability to deliver high quality work on deadline and within scope
  • Proven project management skills and use of various tools and communication methods
  • Involvement in training/mentoring junior staff  
  • Flexibility and energy to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, team environment
  • Ability to travel on an as needed basis
