PAYROLL SPECIALIST

PAYROLL SPECIALIST Detroit Lakes, Minnesota Payroll specialists collect employee information and enter time-sheet data into the database. They prepare cash deposits and process paychecks. Payroll specialists attend to and resolve pay-related queries, ensure that the accounts are balanced, and prepare reports for review by management. RESPONSIBILITIES • Advanced mathematical skills; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent • Understanding of payroll and ability to multi-task • Excellent attention to detail and verbal communication skills • Customer service driven and works well in a team environment with minimal supervision • Able to maintain confidential information and properly manage time • Identify and correct errors in a variety of mathematical computations • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) REQUIREMENTS • High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D) required • Data Entry experience preferred • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with others to make recommendations • Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen
