Welder and Fabricator

Responsibilities and Activities:
• Fabricate, refurbish, and repair roll-off containers
• Perform structural repairs on heavy mobile and yard equipment
• Fabricate structural items for facility modifications throughout the yard
• Other duties as assigned

Required Competencies:
• Foundational understanding of welding and fabrication, including blueprinting and trouble shooting
• Ability to operate 70-18 stick welders, MIG welders, plasma welders, grinders, ironworkers, drill presses and other pieces of shop equipment.
• Capacity to understand and follow established procedures
• Physical stamina to stand, stoop, and bend throughout an 8 hour shift
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. on an occasional basis throughout an 8 hour shift
• Integrity and personal accountability; providing clear and accurate reporting regarding work activities, acknowledging mistakes and oversights, and taking ownership of any required corrective action
• Safely and competently operate a forklift
• Must be 100% drug free.
 

Preferred Competencies:

• Previous experience with structural design
• Heavy equipment experience
• Basic computer competency
• A positive, upbeat, personality. A sense of humor is always a plus

Compensation and Benefits:

• Starts at $19.00 per hour
