What You Can Expect

As our Environmental, Health, & Safety Intern, at ENGIE's Medical Area Total Energy Plant (MATEP) located in Boston, MA, you will be responsible for assisting the Environmental Health and Safety manager with all aspects of developing and managing Environmental Health and Safety programs pertaining to OSHA regulations and state and federal environmental requirements, including confined space entry, crane safety, electrical safety, fall protection and ladder safety, noise, and emergency response, as well as environmental programs involving air, water, and hazardous waste requirements. Every day you will aid in the development and completion of environmental and safety metrics, safety equipment inventories, and inspections geared to reducing injuries and risk. This position will report to the Environmental, Health, & Safety Manager.

What You'll Bring

  • You are actively pursuing a Bachelors' degree in Environmental Science, Health and Safety Engineering
  • You are proficient with MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • You have a collaborative approach and are task oriented with the ability to achieve milestones
  • You are available at least forty hours of consistently-scheduled availability within standard working hours (7:30am - 4pm) in Eastern Standard time, Monday - Friday. Exact hours are negotiable

  • This role requires attendance at a worksiteon a daily basis
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license; might drive company vehicle
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • This position consists of 20% of outdoor work, while performing the duties of this job, the employee maybe exposed to weather conditions
  • High attention to detail and level of organization
  • Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills
  • Must be able to work internally in the physical plant and externally on the facility's grounds or at satellite facilities
  • Ability to meet highest attendance requirements
  • Regularly required to use hands and arms for use tools
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; and stoop, kneel, or crouch
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Compensation

Salary Range: $21.00 to $23.50 USD hourly
