Overview

The Pardee RAND Graduate School is the nation's oldest public policy graduate program and offers both master's and doctorate degrees in policy analysis. It is also the only program based at an independent public policy research organization.

Position Description

As the Pardee RAND Graduate School DC Campus Director, you will be the linchpin of operational and administrative excellence, driving the strategic direction of the campus while ensuring seamless day-to-day operations. Your role is crucial in creating and fostering an environment conducive to academic growth, student support, and positive stakeholder engagement. This position requires a collaborative individual with experience in academia, strong leadership and communication skills, and a passion for supporting the educational experiences of graduate students.

Responsibilities include:

Student Engagement and Academic Support: 60%

  • Teach classes in the area of public policy.

  • Foster a positive learning environment that promotes student engagement and academic success.

  • Provide academic advising and support services to students, addressing their individual needs and concerns.

  • Play a role in internal communications ensuring administration messages and initiatives are shared and understood by DC-based students and faculty as required. Conversely, also ensure student and faculty ideas and concerns are shared with appropriate school leadership.

  • Monitor student satisfaction and engagement metrics, seeking feedback and implementing strategies to enhance the student experience.

  • Foster a culture of inclusion, equity, and diversity within student support services and across campus activities.

Facilities and Operational Leadership: 30%

  • Supervise administrative staff and support teams, providing guidance, training, and professional development opportunities.

  • Develop and implement processes to achieve efficient campus operations.

  • Oversee facilities management, and technological infrastructure to support teaching and learning.

Collaboration and Outreach: 10%

  • Collaborate with the Pardee RAND and RAND staff to facilitate the success of the DC Campus

  • Represent the graduate school in external forums, conferences, and professional networks to enhance its visibility and reputation as well as serve as host and school representative for visitors to the campus.

  • Strategic partner in developing marketing and recruitment strategies to attract high-quality students and promote the value of graduate education.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with a track record of implementing operational best practices and new initiatives.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and build consensus.

  • Proficiency in technology and information systems relevant to operations management, administrative support, and facilities management.

Education Requirements

Master's Degree in relevant discipline. PhD in relevant discipline preferred.

Experience

5 or more years of relevant experience required. 8-10 years preferred.

Location

This position will work from the RAND location in Washington D.C.

This position offers a flex work arrangement with a mix of time in the office and working from home.

Salary Range

$117,700 - $179,700

RAND considers a variety of factors when formulating an offer, including but not limited to, the specific role and associated responsibilities; a candidate's work experience, education/training, skills, expertise; and internal equity.The salary range includes base pay plus RAND's sabbatic pay (which provides additional compensation above base pay when vacation is taken). In addition, RAND provides strong benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, paid time-off and more.
