This position is located at Marshall County Coal Resources in Cameron, West Virginia. We are seeking hard working, motivated individuals. If you are interested in pursuing a career with great potential, we want you!

Primarily responsible for troubleshooting/repairing face and outby equipment and supporting production on a longwall section.

Pay Type: Hourly

Pay Range: $31.915/hour

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the safe and efficient production of coal and/or assistance in the production of coal in general work areas
  • Visually inspect work area for potential hazards
  • Ensure that body mechanics, equipment, and tools are utilized in a safe and responsible manner
  • Safely, effectively, and efficiently work and respond to changing conditions within the mine
  • Must comply with company and mine policies, regulatory policies, and approved procedures
  • Ability to work well with others as part of a team environment
  • Troubleshoot all underground coal mining equipment, hydraulics, electrical, conveyor systems, and diesel transportation units
  • Determine the type and extent of repair work needed on various types of mining equipment
  • Determine seriousness of problems and estimates time to make repairs; obtain correct parts from warehouse
  • Interpret maintenance manuals, parts books, work orders, blueprints, and schematics
  • Maintain/repair pneumatic equipment
  • Welding and torching as necessary
  • Perform work area housekeeping duties
  • Other duties as necessary

EXPERIENCE

  • Must have two (2) years industrial maintenance experience
  • Successfully demonstrate mechanical aptitude

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Valid state issued Underground Electrical Certification
  • Must have state issued Underground Miner Certification
  • Reliable transportation
  • Regular and punctual attendance
  • Thorough knowledge of general mining practices as well as State and Federal mining laws
  • Must be able to successfully complete industry-approved training courses
  • Must be able to work safely and effectively as part of a team or independently
  • Must meet all Federal, State, and Local requirements
  • Must be able to successfully pass a post-offer drug test and background check
  • Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship

JOB SCHEDULE AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to work overtime, weekends and holidays as schedule requires (subject to applicant’s religious practices)
  • Must be able to work a rotating shift schedule (subject to the applicant’s religious practices)
  • Ability to lift floor-to-waist and waist-to-overhead
  • Ability to push/pull as needed
  • Standing, bending, step climbing, crawling, and working overhead
  • Ability to perform heavy labor and lift 50+ pounds as needed
