Position Overview

Paradigm Professional Health Services, Inc. is seeking a full-time on-site School Psychologist to provide services at the Ojibwa Indian School in Belcourt, ND.

Base Year         Date of Hire -  06/30/2024

Option Year 1 08/01/2024 – 06/30/2025

Option Year 2 08/01/2025 – 06/30/2026

Hours of Performance

Typical Schedule: August – June (Approximately 42 weeks)

5-days per week / 8 hours per day (Approximately 1,680 hours yearly)


Education/Experience/Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree in psychology or equivalent from an accredited university in the United States or Canada.
  • Licensure: Current, active, and full unrestricted license or registration to practice Psychology from a State within the United States.
  • Certification: NASP certified school psychologist.
  • Read, write, and speak English well enough and enunciate with sufficient clarity to effectively communicate with students and other staff members.
  • Sufficient typing and computer skills.


Services / Duties:

  • Provide all equipment and supplies necessary to complete the work.
  • Provide on-site services in accordance with P.L. 108-446, the Individuals with disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004, as specified in individual student IEPs.
  • Observes, screens, evaluates students, initial evaluations, re-evaluations, assessments, and provide documentation of student referrals. 
  • Participates in IEP meetings.
  • Develops and/or implements behavioral therapy plans including a narrative description of students specific needs.
  • Maintains counseling service to students as specified in IEP’s.
  • Identifies assistive technology needs and makes recommendations of needs to the Special Education Department.
  • Completes student re-evaluations and initial evaluations in accordance with BIE timelines. 
  • Provides written evaluation reports to the IEP team prior to the team meetings and thoroughly explain evaluation results to parents.
  • Completes and submits to the Special Education Department written reports of student progress (for counseling) at the end of each school quarter and counseling service logs.
  • Provides guidance and support as needed and as applicable, to staff and parents.
  • The contractor will assist with completion of all psycho-educational evaluations, cognitive evaluations, counseling services, functional behavior, behavior plans, and parent support services.
  • Primary responsibilities will include the intellectual and behavioral sections of a comprehensive Special Education evaluation with a completion of written psychological report for each student assessed.
  • The contractor will service students between the hours of 8 am to 3 pm Monday through Friday excluding federal holidays, special holidays as identified by the school, and emergency school closures. Work performed outside regular school operations and on a remote basis are not authorized unless special approval is received by designated school officials.
  • The work schedule is approximately 8 hours per day at 5-days per week.
  • Service shall be provided during the regular school year.
  • Service shall occur over the summer, as needed. (Extended school year)
  • The Contractor is responsible for including all supplies and equipment needed for fulfilling the requirements of the contract. This will include paper supplies, printing resources, purchase of assessments and protocols, on-line and web base scoring applications and any other supplies needed to successfully assess students. When on-site, the contractor may utilize existing government resources at no additional cost such as paper supplies, printing resources, power source, and other consumable supplies.
  • The contractor shall respect the right to student privacy and shall maintain privacy of student information and documents.
  • The contractor shall provide service in a professional and respectful manner when dealing with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • The contractor shall respect and maintain the basic rights of students including personal dignity.
  • The contractor is expected to demonstrate sensitivity to cross-cultural diversity. 
  • At no point shall the contractor attempt to bill third party insurance, parents, or students
