Summary/Objective

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for gathering and preparing quotes, proposals and purchase items and conditions from suppliers


Essential Functions

  • Purchase goods or services that meet the quantity and quality expectations of the company
  • Evaluate and negotiate contracts with vendors
  • Track inventory and restock good when needed
  • Main point of contact for suppliers, answering any questions or address any concerns the supplier(s) has
  • Responsible for negotiating vendor contracts
  • May need to solve product or service issues that do not meet the quality standards of the company
  • Prepares and administers contracts and purchase orders with specific vendors.
  • Tracks tools and equipment issued; update information into tracking system
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of contract principles and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent administrative skills.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to negotiate
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field required.
  • Valid Guam Driver’s License
  • Three years of relevant experience required.


Supervisory Responsibility

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Travel

  • No travel is expected for this position.
