Senior Simulation Software Engineer is expected to apply excellent team leadership techniques and industry standard (e.g., ISO 9001:2015, CMMI, applying High Level Architecture Waterfall, Spiral and Agile development methods) analysis and design techniques to design and develop complex software systems for trainers. Enhance corporate design capabilities and standards, while leading the software technical efforts of the engineering team. The position requires researching and applying advanced software architectures (e.g., run-time architectures, SAAS, S-1000D conversion, procedure automation, software development, automatic testing, ARINC 610C etc.), mathematical models, system modeling, graphical models and programming techniques to design, develop, maintain and extend innovative products and solutions for simulation and training.


Job Summary: Support the US Army’s Modeling Simulation Battle Lab (MSBL) at Fort Leonard Wood MO by designing, developing, and testing subsystem for simulation and training systems.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Works with minimal guidance to design and develop software subsystems, particularly critical software components using the project-dictated object-oriented languages, scripts, and libraries.
  • Leads the technical software activities throughout the system development Lifecyle, including design, development, peer reviews, testing, issue/defect resolution and documentation.
  • Configures and manages the Simulation Environment.
  • Develop or modify OneSAF behaviors and/or entities as needed, in order to properly execute the simulation that supports experimentation and monthly technical integration events.
  • Execute simulation events in accordance with planning and the Model & Simulation Support Plan (M&SSP). Typically experiments run sequentially.
  • Actively communicate with stakeholders, e.g. Project Engineer, Program manager, subordinate engineers.
  • Train and assist the simulation interactors in performing their intended duties and resolving simulation issues.


Requirements:
  • At least one year of experience with Cloud Computing Environment (AWS/AZURE)
  • Experience with DevOps and Cloud Platform as a Service (PaaS)
  • Advanced knowledge of .NET/Core and SQL Server
  • Knowledge of: Microsoft IIS web servers, US ARMY OneSAF software, system/software accreditation, IA compliance, HLA, DIS, Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
  • Must be willing to travel 10%.
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience as a software engineer.
  • BS degree or equivalent professional certification desired in Computer Science or related field or equivalent years of experience.
  • Must have secret clearance or ability to obtain a secret clearance.
  • Must be familiar with security best practices.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
