Director of Sales and Marketing - Kauai

Bishop & Co. is searching for a Director of Sales and Marketing – Kauai for an excellent client.  This position is on Kauai and may be hybrid if the candidate is in the state of Hawaii.

This position reports directly to the resort’s General Manager and is also on the resort’s Executive Committee.  The position has responsibility for the resort’s sales success including leisure, group, catering and marketing strategy.

The successful candidate will create the vision and strategy for the resort’s annual sales and marketing plan and will set the direction for the sales and marketing team.  Along with sales, this leader will also be responsible for marketing to include social media, public relations, and advertising. 

As a role model, you will also be expected to demonstrate sales success, excellent communication skills and be a mentor to the team when needed.  Demonstrating honesty and integrity, you will represent the resort, manage the budget, and help the team enjoy their accomplishments.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Administration, Business Administration or related field experience preferred.
• 5 plus years of previous Director level hotel sales experience preferred.
• A successful track record of direct sales and new business development
• Must possess the ability and willingness to travel 25% of the time.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Demonstrated business and financial acumen.
• Appropriate professional appearance and demeanor.
• Ability to deliver presentations in a concise, well-organized manner.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Demonstrates knowledge of job-related processes and systems (i.e. IT systems specific to sales)
• At least 4 years of progressive hotel Sales experience; or a 4-year college degree and at least 3 years of related experience; or a 2-year college degree and at least 5 years of hotel Sales experience.
• Travel required.
• Salary range is $164,000 - $197,000 Annually with a great benefits package.
