Hours: 35 hours per week

Caseload/Details:

• Responsible for a caseload of 9 students.
• Caseload includes students who require consultative services as per their IEPs, as well as those who receive braille services and other specialized support.

Special Requirements:

• Must hold a valid Mississippi Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) License.

Job Details: Blazerjobs Recruiting Advisor is currently seeking a Remote Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for a contract position in Mississippi. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments.
• Provide direct instruction and support in areas such as braille literacy, orientation and mobility, and access to assistive technology.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure the implementation of appropriate accommodations and modifications.
• Conduct assessments to determine students' educational needs and progress.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress and services provided.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
• Valid Mississippi Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) License.
• Experience working with students with visual impairments, including those who require braille instruction.
• Knowledge of best practices in the field of visual impairment education.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
