Position Summary:

Sovah Health in Danville, VA. is seeking a Full Time Certified Central Sterile Processing Technician to join our team for our 3:00pm - 11:30pm Shift & rotate weekend call.

The Certified CSP Tech will:

·         Provide inspection, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of instruments and other patient care equipment in accordance with processing guidelines, AAMI, AORN, TJC, and OSHA requirements.

·         Operate departmental equipment daily according to manufacturer instructions with emphasis on safety.

·         Document the sterility of all instruments and supplies according to hospital policy and procedure in conjunction with AAMI Standards.

·         Provide customer service to all departments with a focus on the patient need.

·         Process and document all sterile supplies and equipment daily using chemical, biological, and mechanical indicators to verify sterility in accordance with manufacturer instructions and hospital policy.

·         Monitor and perform antimicrobial and disinfection solutions testing according to manufacturer instructions and documentation daily.

Minimum Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Certifications

• Certification and/or registration through the International Association of Central Service Material Management Required

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Requires flexibility in scheduling with the ability to work all shift patterns including weekends and holidays to ensure continuity of care and nursing coverage to the patients of Sovah Health Danville on all units.
