Description/Job Summary

The Professional Development Trainer & Consultant provides one-on-one coaching and consulting services to leadership, conducts in person training sessions, develops customized training programs, and fosters positive relationships with leaders to drive business success and department/Regional Office strategic plans.

Responsibilities/Duties

Leadership Coaching and Consulting

The Professional Development Trainer and Consultant provides leadership development, team development, and sales coaching and consulting services to association leadership, including senior leadership.

  • Supports the RVPs in driving business results through one on one and group coaching and planning.
  • Supports Human Resources (HR) and OD with coaching to performance related issues throughout the Association including recommendations based on the coaching session.
  • Provides individual coaching and consulting services, primarily to leadership, at all levels of the organization.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with leaders to understand their business challenges and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Consults with the VPOD to develop long term strategic training, development and succession plans for the association

Field Training Development and Delivery

The Professional Development Trainer & Consultant supports the field staff, Regional Vice Presidents' (RVPs) and Regional Managers' (RMs) strategic plans through training development, and facilitation. This person is a key resource for field staff and managers and works collectively and individually with leaders to ensure that training needs are being addressed.

In particular, this person:

  • Identifies field staff training needs, including trends and emerging needs, and develops strategies to deliver effective training in a timely manner.
  • Designs and develops creative and effective sales training content and delivers training.
  • Reviews technical training materials and delivery, assesses based on best practices, and makes or recommends changes to ensure effectiveness of training.
  • Conducts in-person training sessions and workshops on various topics including leadership development, employee development, and driving the strategic plan.
  • Collaborates with field managers to assess training needs, develop learning objectives, and measure training effectiveness.
  • Stays up-to-date on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in sales training and development
  • Leads and influences stakeholders to drive adoption of training initiatives and promote a culture of continuous learning.

Organizational Development & Training

The Professional Development Trainer & Consultant supports OD driven training initiatives as a facilitator, trainer or coach and provides guidance regarding best practices for learning and application.

  • Designs programming and content for internal conferences that facilitates application on the job.
  • Facilitates focused training specific to needs of individual offices or departments.
  • Works with the VPOD to design, develop and deliver leadership and executive-level training.
  • Develops training content for Loan Operations and Credit U and facilitates on-the-job (OTJ) training efforts.
  • Serves as a key resource for program design and facilitation for subject matter experts (SMEs) throughout the association.

Project & Committee Facilitation

The Professional Development Trainer & Consultant leads projects and committees related to training and development, providing direction, coordination, documentation, constructive feedback, and implementation.

  • Coordinates and facilitates committees to provide insight and assist with developing training material and instructional documents.
  • Leads subject matter expert work groups, which includes initiating the project timeline, determining team members and the allocation of resources.
  • Serves on committees and working forums that utilize OD or training in some capacity.

Software

  • Understands and utilizes the Learning Management System (LMS) for the creation of learning journeys.
  • Supports employees with utilization of the LMS for OTJ training and development of learning goals and outcomes.
  • Remains current on developments in training and instructional methodologies, including technology enhancements, making software implementation recommendations as identified

  • Appropriately protects the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the Association's systems and data and clients' data

Required Skills

  • Proven track record of designing and delivering effective training programs and coaching interventions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and establish credibility with clients at all levels of the association.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and inspire others to achieve their full potential.
  • Ability to learn, organize and communicate technical subject matter as well as soft skills.
  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts.
  • Skill in utilizing a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
  • A strong work ethic and independent thinking is required as well as the ability to influence and impact employees inside the organization.
  • A strong knowledge of how to design, develop, and deliver course curriculums and training materials to be effective.
  • The ability to identify ways to make things work better for learners.
  • Ability to interact cross-functionally across the organization and to organize and manage time and projects effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative to anticipate and overcome obstacles, set priorities, see projects through to completion, and regularly deliver on expectations.
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills.

Required Experience

Bachelor's degree in business, education, or a related field and 7 years of work experience in professional training, coaching, consulting, or related field.
Or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and skillset sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.

Preferred Qualifications

Certification in coaching, training, or related field preferred (e.g., ATD, ICF, SHRM)

Details

Must be willing and able to travel throughout the association's 60-county territory.
