CDL A Driver - Direct Hire

We are looking for a highly skilled and safety-conscious Driver with a CDL Class A license to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maneuvering trailers in our yard and on public roads to ensure the timely and efficient movement of goods between locations. The Switcher Operator will work closely with other members of the logistics team to coordinate the loading and unloading of trailers, ensuring that all safety protocols are followed at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate a switcher truck to move and position trailers within our yard and on public roads.

• Ensure that trailers are properly secured and safely transported to their destination.

• Coordinate with other members of the logistics team to schedule and prioritize the loading and unloading of trailers.

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the switcher truck and trailer, ensuring that all safety equipment and features are in proper working order.

• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, loaders, and unloaders to ensure that all transportation schedules are met.

• Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

• Must have a valid CDL Class A license.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating a switcher truck in a transportation or logistics environment.

• Excellent driving record with no major violations in the past 3 years.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

• Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends if necessary.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.

• Must be able to climb in and out of the switcher truck and trailer.

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

• Must have good vision, hearing, and hand-eye coordination.
