The Special Events Captain is responsible for directly supervising the specific events they are assigned to. This includes the planning, set up, execution and tear down of each specific event.

Pay: $25.00 - $27.50 / hour

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate all aspects of banquet and private event operations.
  • Lead and supervise banquet staff, ensuring they deliver exceptional service and adhere to established standards.
  • Collaborate with event planners and clients to understand their needs and preferences, ensuring seamless execution of events.
  • Set up banquet rooms according to event specifications and maintain a keen eye for detail.
  • Monitor event timelines and coordinate with various departments to ensure smooth execution.
  • Train and mentor banquet staff to uphold service standards and enhance their skills.
  • Handle guest inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain inventory and ensure proper storage and handling of banquet equipment.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of food and beverages.
  • Uphold cleanliness and organization in banquet areas, adhering to health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of proven experience as a Banquet Captain or similar role in a high-end restaurant or hospitality setting.
  • Exceptional organizational and leadership skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of banquet and event planning processes.
  • Familiarity with food and beverage service, including wine and cocktail knowledge.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
