Safety Officer - Resident/Nested

IRISNDT is seeking a full-time resident Safety Officer to audit our facilities and limit the health or injury risks to employees. We are looking for candidates who are local to the Sweeny, Texas area. This role is not only essential to our compliance with federal and state safety regulations, but also to the health and efficiency of our workforce.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Conduct safety inspections;
• Document issues or damages;
• Lead training seminars;
• Review safety procedures with employees;
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations;

Requirements and Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in occupational safety or related field;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to interact professionally with various levels of employees and the client;
• Strong leadership and team training skills;
• Ability to be effective in fast-paced environments and high-pressure situations;
• Valid Driver's License and pre-access drug & alcohol testing required;
• Pre-employment background checks will be required;
• Valid TWIC Card required;
• Bilingual ability (English and Spanish preferred);
  
• Attention to detail;

Physical Requirements

• Able to use computers and monitors for extended periods daily, required to sit, stand, walk, climb, kneel, use hand to touch, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear;
• While performing the duties of this job, employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, cold, and extreme heat;
• Occasional lift, carry, maneuver, stack up to 50 lbs;
• Remain constantly active throughout shift;
• Vision abilities: close vision & distance vision;
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions to include but not limited to extreme heat and cold;
