ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Monitor Service Manager queue for incoming work
  • Installations and Decommissions and Relocations
  • Troubleshooting of Incidents
  • Tickets requiring the assistance of Data Center Facilities.
  • Closing tickets opened by the team that were handled by other teams.
  • Work the tickets noted above according to established data center standards and best practices.
  • Capture asset changes as they occur
  • Run new cabling for connect end devices to LAN or SAN switches
  • Recapture cabling from decommissioned devices
  • Look for opportunities to eliminate cost in data center operations.
  • Works with the guidance of more senior members of the Data Center Facilities team and direction of Data Center Management
  • Respond to data center emergency situations as requested by data center management
  • Record all incoming and outgoing freight.
  • Running hardware diagnostics and replacing failing parts in a timely manner.
  • Monitoring all network processes to ensure the smooth flow of data across the network.
  • Collaborating with software and network engineering teams on cybersecurity and network efficiency.
  • Upgrading internal system components, including CPUs, memory, hard drives, and network cables.
  • Documenting processes and keeping event logs.
  • Advising on the procurement of new data center equipment.
  • Keeping track of developing trends in data center

QUALIFICATIONS

  • CompTIA Server Plus, CompTIA Network, or CCNP certification would be advantageous.
  • 3+ years of experience as a data center technician, or similar.
  • In-depth knowledge of data center environments, servers, and network equipment.
  • Extensive experience in installing, monitoring, and maintaining data center equipment.
  • Exceptional ability to work as part of a team, provide IT support, and resolve errors.
  • Ability to keep up with advancements in data center infrastructure and technologies.
  • Proficiency in documenting network processes.
  • Exceptional communication skills.

  • Duel In Line Memory Module (DIMM) Repair/Replace
  • Solid State Drive (SSD) Repair/Replace

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Primarily walking, standing, and bending for extended periods with some sitting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with verbal, written, visual and listening skills.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required equipment as well as to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments.
  • Able to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to pull cables.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work on raised platforms.
