Job Description
Our client, the world's largest bulk producer of its food classification is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Manager for their Forest City, IL facility. The purpose of the Quality Assurance Manager is to be responsible for quality management support in the production area, along with being responsible for the development and implementation of quality policies, procedures, and practices.

The responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Coordinator include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Managing and updating quality systems (webtools, HARPC, HACCP, and HACQP plans)
  • Creating and implementing training of associates on the quality systems
  • Completing monthly internal audits for designated areas, including both a physical audit and document review
  • Supporting continuous improvement of the SQF systems
  • Oversee the development implementation, review, and maintenance of SQF systems
  • Food Safety and Quality Fundamentals
  • Food Safety and Quality Plan
  • Completing secondary responsibilities including sampling ingredients, verifying oil blends, inspecting tankers, working with the sales department to meet customer requests (documentation requests, audits, samples, etc.) and investigate customer complaints.
  • Manage contract pest management personnel to ensure proper licensing and schedule compliance
  • Maintains customer quality satisfaction through the implementation and use of programs to control raw material, production process, environmental conditions & finished products
  • Lead and participate in internal and external audits to ensure company standards are met
  • Work with Quality management team to develop, implement, validate, verify, and maintain SQF prerequisite, food safety and food quality systems
  • Manages department staffing
  • Performs evaluations and creates development/training plan for individuals within the team and manages employee relations
  • Collaborates with plant management team to execute plans for continuous improvement and industry best practices
  • Lead cross functional SQF, Food Safety/HACCP and Risk Assessment teams
  • Partner with Regulatory & Compliance Manager to investigate and respond to complaints

The primary job duties of the Quality Assurance Coordinator include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Managing and updating quality systems daily
  • Creating and implementing training of associates
  • Performing internal audits
  • Sampling ingredients and environmental swabbing
  • Completing reports with information for senior sales group, customers, ownership, and other company decision makers as needed
