Wellstone is North Alabama's most comprehensive behavioral health care provider serving over 13,000 persons a year in Huntsville and Cullman. We are a non-profit community organization that offers a wide range of services for every phase of life, from children to older adults. Our Cullman office is looking for a CRNP with the ability to see adults and children.

Position Title: Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner

What we are looking for:

• Master’s of Nursing and licensed as RN and CRNP in Alabama
• Clinical Specialty in the appropriate area of practice
• Mental Health Experience
• Familiar with Computers
• Ability to type notes/information into the Electronic Health Record
• Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills

What you"ll be doing:

• Adheres to the Center’s philosophy of care, professional ethics and other standards of policies and procedures

• Evaluate mental health status of Adult clients through psychiatric assessments and focused medical assessments.
• Formulate psychiatric diagnosis according to the DSM
• Develop and implement an intervention that could include therapy, medication and referral to community resources as appropriate for the patient’s condition.
• Prescribe a legend drug if medication is indicated for treatment.
• Orders lab tests as appropriate and/or necessary.
• Counsel, teach and assist individuals and families to assume responsibility for self-care in prevention of illness, health maintenance and health restoration.
• Consult with and refer to other health care providers as appropriate.
• Institute emergency measures and emergency treatment or appropriate stabilization measures.
• Perform follow up and medication monitoring on existing clients.
• Answer questions, provide education and understanding of medication side effects.
• Will compile information and input accurate and concise information into the Electronic Medical Record (Netscape My Avatar System) in a timely fashion.
• Follow standard Certified Nurse Practitioner protocol and the standard formulary outlined by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
• Maintain licensure and training requirements of WellStone Behavioral Health
• Perform other duties as indicated by the Medical Director, Division Director, Chief Clinical Officer and/or Chief Executive Officer
