Job Description

We seek a dynamic and experienced individual to take on the role of Commercial Laundry Director. In this high-level leadership position, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all laundry operations across our organization on a national scale. The successful candidate will bring a proven track record of strategic planning, operational excellence, and team leadership to ensure the efficient and effective management of our commercial laundry facilities and services.

As a Commercial Laundry Director, you will:

  • Coordinate with resort/hotel managers to ensure seamless and timely laundry services across all locations.
  • Being able to maintain production requirements to meet budget
  • Working with clients to maintain continued partnership and seek new business.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive laundry strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Experience in producing 10+ million pounds of linen per year
  • Experience in sorting systems, front loaded washers and dryer systems, flatwork ironers, towels folder and shipping department
  • Direct and manage the activities of laundry supervisors and their teams to ensure consistent, high-quality laundry services.
  • Generate regular comprehensive reports for the Gatlinburg facility, detailing KPIs, operational efficiencies, financial performance, and customer feedback to inform strategic decisions at the executive level.
  • Establish and enforce quality control measures to ensure that all laundered items meet the organization's cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation standards.
  • Implement best practices to minimize errors, reduce rework, and improve laundry quality.
  • Collaborate closely with other divisions, such as sales, marketing, and finance, to ensure that industrial laundry operations at the Gatlinburg facility are seamlessly integrated with broader business strategies.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, improvement areas, and growth opportunities.
  • Optimize resource allocation for the Gatlinburg facility, including workforce scheduling, machinery utilization, and inventory management, to ensure seamless operations while containing costs.
  • Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to maintain a steady supply of raw materials and consumables.
  • Enforce and oversee strict safety protocols for the Gatlinburg facility to ensure a secure working environment for employees and adhere to all pertinent industry regulations and guidelines.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments, such as facilities management, customer service, and finance, to ensure seamless integration of laundry operations with overall business processes.
  • Directly supervises a team of 50 plus members and carries out responsibilities per the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications

  • Proven experience (8+ years) in a senior leadership role within the industrial laundry or hospitality industry, focusing on multi-site operations or a Bachelor’s degree in business management, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong understanding of laundry processes, equipment, and industry best practices.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • In-depth understanding of commercial laundry processes, equipment, and industry best practices, with specific knowledge of the challenges and nuances of managing large-scale commercial laundry facilities.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software for reporting, analysis, and management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive results, and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations pertaining to laundry operations.
