Salary: $55,000 - $60,000

HireUp Talent is seeking a Staff Accountant in the Tampa area. This position is an in-office position located by the Tampa Bay Fairgrounds. 


This role will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial statements, reconciling bank and credit card accounts, managing tax compliance (state), and ensuring adherence to accounting standards and regulations. You will assist with audits, and support budgeting and forecasting processes, and manage the month-end close process, among other ad-hoc projects given.

 

Daily Duties Include:


  • Prepares and reviews monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Manages month-end close process and the timely preparation and dissemination of interim and year-end financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Reconciles bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Performs AP/AR audits to identify cost savings.
  • Manages tax filings and payments and liaises with external tax advisors.
  • Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of accounting systems and internal controls.
  • Assists with external and internal audits and provides supporting documentation and information.
  • Supports budgeting and forecasting activities and provides variance analysis.
  • Manages AR Aging and Collections
  • Reconciles real estate lease payments and adheres to the scheduling of leasehold improvements payments and reimbursements.

 

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting or another relevant field. Preferably two to five years of experience and possess a strong knowledge of GAAP principles and standards. CPA not required but highly desirable. 

 

Systems knowledge and proficiency in QuickBooks, Sage, Oracle and Paycor is helpful.
