We are seeking a Superintendent with demonstrated experience managing Bridge and Infrastructure jobs. As a successful candidate, you are a skilled at running your jobs according to schedule and on budget while maintaining a safe and productive environment.


Requirements:

Responsibilities: General responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with management/estimating teams to ensure effective crew configurations, production rates, and equipment and material resource availability/utilization are used in potential job estimates.
  • Collaborate with management and foremen to ensure adherence to project schedules and labor budgets, quality control and equipment and material resource availability/utilization.
  • Develop and communicate production goals and specifications to your team and other constituents to maximize worker effectiveness, adherence to schedule and maintenance of profitability goals.
  • Cultivate and maintain excellent communication with superintendents, project foremen, and pre-construction teams to achieve project goals.
  • Develop and maintain project labor budgets, work weekly and daily master schedules, ensuring effective communication with production and other staff to implement any necessary changes due to unforeseen work circumstances.
  • Evaluate, manage and procure equipment and materials for construction projects.
  • Provide oversight regarding manpower and equipment scheduling, dispatch and equipment transportation.
  • Train, manage, motivate and evaluate staff to ensure maximum safety, effectiveness, quality work, and professional development.
  • Ensure safety and quality programs, as dictated by company and regulatory agencies, are strictly adhered to for preserving personnel, equipment, and the job site.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years experience in Bridge construction with a minimum of 3 of those years being in a supervisory/management role
  • Proficient in reading and analyzing construction plans and specifications; scheduling, cost and quality control practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to take ownership, develop solutions to complex problems and meet deadlines without sacrificing quality.
  • Ability to thrive and multi-task in fast-paced, changing environment with a “can-do” attitude.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Bridge and Heavy Civil Construction
  • Experienced in the following scopes of work:

Dirt, Base, and Drainage

Civil Concrete

Pile Drivining/Critical Lifts

Bridge/Road Construction

Traffic Control

  • Proficient in Microsoft products such as: excel, word, and outlook
  • CPR, First Aid, Competent Person Training (Trench Safety & Fall Protection), and power actuated tool training.
  • TWIC and OSHA 30 certification.
  • High school diploma or GED certificate

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.


Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; and effectively jumps, sprints or throws objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina.
