Salary: $14 per hour

Are you interested in working with animals? Are you looking to learn more about the environmental education field? Then the Prairie Grass Nature Museum, part of the Round Lake Area Park District, is the place for you. 


The Round Lake Area Park District has summer job opportunities to work as a museum attendant. The Nature Museum Attendant is a seasonal hourly position with 10-15 hours available from June through mid-August. 


The Nature Museum Attendant is responsible for the daily care of the Prairie Grass Nature Museum animals and exhibits.  Animal care involves cleaning the habitats for our reptiles and amphibians. In addition to animal care, you will greet our museum guests in a welcoming and  friendly manner. 

The Nature Museum Attendant may also assist museum staff with outdoor nature programing, which may include fishing and paddling. 



Qualifications:

  • At least 18 years old.
  • Outgoing personality, creative and self-motivated to work independently and as part of a team.
  • An appreciation for nature and the environment. 
  • Experience leading nature programming a plus, but not required.


This position can provide valuable work experience in the fields of animal care, ecology, outdoor education, and recreation.
