Job Description
As our Planner, you will work closely with the RMT Manager, Expediter, QC Inspectors, and other co-workers to produce quality efficiently and safely and on time product and is aligned to support the growth and improvement targets of the company by driving a customer-centric, quality culture. Winchester’s go-to-market strategy centers around its technical capabilities, customer service, and product reliability. The Planner will develop and execute plans to achieve compliance with new or updated standards.

Qualifications & Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university is preferred; 3-5 five years directly related experience in Planning and Manufacturing and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proficiency in the following:
• ERP knowledge and proficient in use
• Manufacturing knowledge preferred
• Monitor incoming orders, supply chain problems, market changes and inventory issues to minimize the impact on production
• Monitor material flow and identify shortages or bottlenecks
• Plans, schedules and coordinates the flow of products through the complete production cycle
• Create a production schedule for materials and resources
• Ability to gather data, analyze and present metrics for department
• Responds well to questions, with clear precise answers. Participates regularly in meetings; communicating in a positive manner
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with all levels of management and personnel
• Mechanical aptitude to learn quickly and demonstrate proficiency.
• Good communication skills, ability to relate to a diverse workforce, leadership skills.
• A strong desire to meet due dates and satisfy the customer.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
• Ability to re-prioritize daily.

What will you be Accountable for?
• Plan production releases to meet customer request dates, where there is a material shortage or capacity problem, planner will coordinate with RMT Manager, Quality or other functions, resolution of the issue or develop an alternate plan. The result is to achieve a master schedule through coordination of internal resources and communicate to all functions, particularly Inside Sales, any deviation from the known or requested plan.
• Review and analyze cost as needed.
• Print and issue job packets with prints and routers. Verify that job packets for proper revision level and content of all drawings and work instructions!
• Ensure routers have time allocated to each operation, work with Manufacturing Engineer to make sure of accuracy and order of operations.
• Coordinate with Engineering on any changes to print revisions!
• Working with Expeditor and Product Leads to schedule and flow work through the manufacturing areas.
• Monitor Labor variances. Work with and/or lead product cost reductions.
• Work with RMT Manager to determine headcount requirements or to assist in overtime decisions, as this position visibility to forward schedules, bottlenecks and customer requirements is greater than that of any other disciplines.
• Assist with reporting of accurate work-in-process and delivery status information to customer/supply chain employees.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and make suggestions..
