Reporting to the VP Creative, Consumer Brands, the Head of Copywriting will work across Beauty Industry Group brands Zala, Luxy, Donna Bella, Glam Seamless and Hidden Crown. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of copy editors managing product and brand copywriting/messaging on all Beauty Industry Group’s brands across e-commerce, emails, social media, packaging, video, and collaborating with cross-functional partners involved in e-commerce and digital expression. The ideal candidate possesses the following: a passion for content and copy, superior written and verbal communication skills, a proactive leadership mentality, and flexibility in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Live and breathe Beauty Industry Group’s five (5) consumer brands: Zala, Luxy, Donna Bella, Glam Seamless and Hidden Crown’s vision, values and beliefs;
  • Become an expert in the portfolio brands and brand voice, with deep knowledge of the products, copy attributes, the industry, and competitor content and presentation;
  • Work collaboratively with art directors, planning, and account team to provide creative, strategically sound copy, and brand tone of voice solutions for brand guidelines;
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of messaging on all the brands digital communications;
  • Attend and participate in market research, A/B testing;
  • Format, edit, and implement website copy on our web content management; system for new products, existing products and other projects, as required, while working under extremely tight daily deadlines;
  • Work closely with the Product Copy team and Brand Copy team to ensure copy is supplied for all web launches and/or rebrands across the consumer portfolio;
  • Manage team calendar and ensure deadlines are met;
  • Collaborate closely with partners on the E-Commerce, Brand, Product Development, and Creative teams to maintain existing marketing content and ensure it is presented in the most effective and compelling way;
  • Think strategically and analytically about site merchandising and how copy and educational content can support and elevate the presentation of products while serving and empowering the brand’s customers.

Requirements:
  • 8+ years of web copy experience, preferably in consumer brands, beauty or fashion
  • Prior experience managing a team within a deadline-driven production environment
  • Excellent writing, copyediting, and proofreading skills, in additional verbal and written communication
  • Clear understanding of performance-driven and brand copywriting styles
  • Understand best practices of copywriting for digital platforms
  • Exceptionally focused on details, unwaveringly meticulous, and dedicated to maintaining high standards of accuracy and consistency
  • Manage multiple projects and tight deadlines simultaneously while paying impeccable attention to detail; logical thinker and creative problem solver
  • Strong knowledge of Mac and Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel, and Google Workspace
  • Experience with/technical proficiency in web content management systems, web page authoring, process and workflow building, and localization of content
  • A portfolio that showcases your writing style and strong strategic and conceptual campaign thinking applied across a range of deliverables
  • Access to a diverse network of freelancers and a strong ability to assign, edit, and coach as needed to create great work
  • A strong understanding of marketing and content channels and ability to adapt writing to fit the needs of the audience
