JOB SUMMARY: The job is a combination of: driving a semi across Florida, unloading at the customer's place, occasionally small installations of office furniture such as desk, hutch, table (nothing crazy) and being the face of our company at the customer's doorstep. Transports and delivers wood and refurbishment products from the wood plant in Bushnell, FL and refurbishment plant in Polk City, FL to various customers throughout the state of Florida. Local driving is performed on Mondays through Fridays. Should live within 1 hour of Bushnell, FL. Drivers are normally home by the end of the workday, but some overnight stays are required. PRIDE offers an excellent benefit package where the company pays 92% of the premiums; 6% 401k match, and company-funded STD and LTD. A Level II background check is required as the refurbishment plant has inmate workers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Cover all ESSENTIAL major duties and areas of responsibility - no minor tasks, 4-14 duty statements only.) Other duties may be assigned.

We require a reliable person with some of the following skills:

  1. Good Driver record and experience
  2. Installation/Assembly experience on Wood Furniture & Systems
  3. Must be practical and physically fit
  4. Based at Sumter CI, Bushnell and when required work inside the correctional facility
  5. Work as part of a team when required but, be well organized while working alone
  6. Be customer focused as the face of our business
  7. Willing to keep accurate safety records of the vehicle
  8. Must maintain accurate records of all Vehicle costs, gas, consumables etc.
  9. Must be willing to work long days when required
  10. Must be a good communicator

Training will be provided on all products lines. No typical day; you could be delivering chairs, completing an Office Install, repair work or working with another team member on larger or more challenging installs. Most driving will be in a Long Wheelbase Transit van; all Tools will be supplied.


Requirements:

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: There are six sub-sections, you can use some or all of them.

  1. Education and Experience: High school/GED.
  • High school/GED.
  • One (1) year of recent tractor trailer experience.
  • No DUI or reckless driving on record.
  1. Language Skills: Good verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
  2. Mathematical Skills: Basic math skills.
  3. Reasoning Ability: Reading comprehension.
  4. Specialized Knowledge and/or Skill:
  • Maintains a current DOT Medical Card and CDL class A license.
  • Self-Starter
  • Safety conscious
  • Ability to foster teamwork with Wood staff and Corrections staff.
  • Detailed oriented
