Weld Machine Operator

Machine Operator Job Description

We are currently seeking a Weld Machine Operator to join our team at our facilities located in Decatur and Athens, TN. As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machines in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct welding setups for production
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
• Assemble mechanical components
• Inspects and measures machined work pieces to verify conformances to specifications
• Unload parts from machine, inspects parts for quality and place in appropriate containers
• Examines finished work pieces to verify conformance with specifications according to operator inspection sheet, quality control plans and/or customer notes using instruments such as gauges
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations
• Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards
• Change perishable tooling as required (taps, tips, etc.)
• Basic understanding of computers and ability to perform computer functions as they pertain to the job
• Demonstrated detail orientation, self-motivation skills and ability to multi-task
• Competent at basic dimensional measuring and able to quickly learn the use of precision measurement tools
• Demonstrated ability to effectively implement or respond to change
• Working safely as a condition of employment
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED is required
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Basic computer skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Mechanical assembly skills

Special Note - Available Shifts:

• Athens, TN:

  • Monday - Friday 2:00pm - 10:30pm

  • Sunday - Thursday 10:00pm - 6:30am

  • Overtime on a sixth day in the week will be frequent

  • $1.00/hour shift differential available

• Decatur, TN (starting in April):

  • Monday - Friday 5:00am - 1:30pm

  • Sunday - Thursday 5:00pm - 1:30am ($1.00/hour differential)

• High School / GED
• Excellent Communication Skills
• Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
• Basic Computer Skills

Salary info:

$17 - $18 / hr
