Job Description

Position: Senior Mechanical Integrity Engineer

Location: North Dakota (Upstream Facilities)

Summary: Join our team as a Senior Mechanical Integrity Engineer responsible for overseeing the Mechanical Integrity (MI) of fixed equipment inspection programs across North Dakota's upstream facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan inspections with comprehensive coverage and suitable NDE techniques.
  • Analyze inspection results, providing actionable recommendations.
  • Conduct mechanical analysis to evaluate thickness and fitness for service.
  • Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and ensure compliance through regular monitoring.
  • Monitor inspection intervals, recommending changes based on inspection history and industry standards.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for problematic MI equipment, ensuring effective countermeasures.
  • Provide support for gathering failure data and implementing necessary countermeasures.
  • Implement quality assurance practices to enhance MI event data within PCMS/SAP.
  • Review and approve MI inspection reports from contract inspectors, redirecting as needed for additional data capture.
  • Audit contract inspection crews for safety, quality, and delivery standards.
  • Drive safety procedures and best practices compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Master Data team to align PCMS and SAP.
  • Provide front-line accountability for MI inspection compliance in upstream assets.
  • Offer input and evaluation for capital projects involving MI equipment.
  • Write, review, and approve inspection test plans (ITPs) for MI equipment.
  • Act as Integrity Management Database (PCMS) Owner for upstream facilities.

Requirements

Qualifications: Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in oil & gas with a focus on Mechanical Integrity inspection program ownership.
  • Prior knowledge of PCMS and SAP Software.
  • Strong understanding of inspection and repair practices for MI equipment in oil & gas or petrochemical industries.
  • Proficient in Microsoft, PCMS, SAP, etc.
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in diverse, multidiscipline team environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with leadership abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Education, Training & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Materials, Corrosion Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Preferred: API 510, 570, and/or 653 certified.
  • Ideal candidate will have experience with Fixed Equipment Inspection in Oil and Gas upstream, such as Oil Wells and Pads.
  • Consideration for midstream or downstream candidates, but upstream experience preferred.
