Job Description
The Fabrication Set Up position is responsible for setting up and operating complex fabricated parts on all standard company fabrication equipment. This position works directly with the fabrication lead and Supervisor to maintain proper equipment set-ups, schedules, and employee training.
Fabrication Set Up Essential Functions:
- Set-up and program all company fabrication equipment, including any available software.
- Set-up and program all press brakes thru associated software. Make adjustments as required during production.
- Demonstrate proper operation of jobs to assigned employees after job set-up.
- Read and interpret technical drawings to set-up jobs per specification.
- Use micrometers, calipers, and other available tools to ensure product is within tolerance.
- Program new jobs into machine controller.
- Performs quality checks and in-process monitoring.
- Safely operate forklift and any other authorized power equipment.
- Performs preventative maintenance tasks by working with assigned employees.
- Routinely review set-ups to determine tooling condition.
- Process material per work order.
Fabrication Set Up Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Certified to operate forklift.
- Ability to read and interpret prints
- Ability to do extensive set-ups on various fabrication equipment.
- Read and Interpret technical drawings
- Capable to identify and use correct tooling for jobs.
- Read measurements to 1/32” with a tape measure.
- Read calipers and micrometers.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Fabrication Set Up Minimum Required Experience or Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent vocational school
- Minimum 4-6 years’ experience working in a manufacturing setting or fabrication specific vocational training.
- Preference to prior machinery set-up experience.
Fabrication Set Up 1st shift work hours, Monday-Thursday 6am-3pm, Friday 6am-2pm + 2-3 required Saturdays a month
Fabrication Set Up Starting wage is $16.50-$18 per hour depending on experience
